YMCA of Bucks and Hunterdon Counties is the leading non-profit child care provider in Bucks County and Hunterdon County, NJ. We are dedicated to helping improve the health of at-risk families.

Our Y provides a feeding program in key regions in Bucks and Hunteron Counties through the USDA Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) and Child and Adult Care Feeding (CACFP) program. The programs provide nutritious hot meals and improved snacks at our child care and after-school facilities.

It is estimated since the pandemic that more than 70,000 individuals in Bucks County (including children and youth) are hungry and access food through SNAP, nonprofit organizations, schools, churches and food pantries. This is a 19% increase in the number of hungry individuals prior to the pandemic. Prior to the pandemic 1 in 7 children were suffering from hunger and that number has increased to 1 in 4 children.

At the Y, more than 70% of the children we serve through childcare programs in Flemington, NJ, Lower Bucks, New Britain, Quakertown and Warminster are considered food insecure. We have seen, first hand, the impact of hunger and know that nutrition is the single most important school supply.

Cabrini Summer Camp

Since 2022, The Y has served as a USDA Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) at the Cabrini summer camp program. We are working hard to expand the Child and Adult Care Feeding (CACFP) program to provide nutritious hot meals and improved snacks at our childcare and after-school facilities, as well.

Morrisville Child Care

We understand that nutrition plays a crucial role in the health and development of young minds and bodies. Through our participation in the CACFP program, we proudly offer breakfast and lunch to all children attending the Morrisville Pre-K Counts and Child Care Center. These meals are thoughtfully crafted to provide the essential nutrients children need to thrive throughout the day.
